Feralia spp.? - Heterocampa biundata

Feralia spp.? - Heterocampa biundata
Nashua, New Hampshire, USA
August 5, 2007
Size: 3/4 -1 inch?
I found this guy out at night sitting atop some grass...
Can't say too much about it, though. It was a rather docile animal & very easy to photograph. Note the fringes on the sides of under-wings can be seen when the wings are closed.

Reminds me of a Heterocampa
Possibly Heterocampa biundata - Wavy-Lined Heterocampa - Hodges#7995. Quite a variable species but compare it to this image.

Wait for one of the experts to weigh in before you move it though.

I agree
biundata and guttivitta are almost identical but in my area biundata is more green. My guess for this specimen is biundata.

Yeah...
H. guttivitta also seems hairier then my guy.
