Springtail?

Springtail?
Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina, USA
January 30, 2008
Size: .5 - 1mm
Very ant like in appearance, maybe a termite?
I've never seen such a small termite.

Bark Louse
Some bark lice lack wings, though this could be a nymphe, too.
Possibly a book louse?

The big thing with termites is that they lack eyes among all but the adult reproductives.

Yes!
Great call, Jonas! The expanded hind femora are a clue that this is in one of the booklice families. Incredible shot, S3.

Yay!
It's not often I can get an ID right.
I didn't know about the femora thing, though. :3
I guess you learn something new every day.
