Rhyssinae - female

Rhyssinae - Female
Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

Wondering if this is a Pimplinae sp ?

Moved
Moved from Ichneumon Wasps.

Rhyssinae…
The large size, a very long thin ovipositor, a cylindrical abdomen becoming dorsolaterally compressed apically, the hind coxae length being more than twice the width, and the first metasomal segment narrowed anteriorly, but posteriorly evenly broadened indicate this group. Some have a small triangular areolet which is the case in this female.

See reference here.

Thanks
for such detailed reply & for the AEI link!

Don't know.
I'm looking forward to the day I can sit down leisurely with my microscope and begin to make heads or tails (ovipositors?) out of the ichneumons. When (or 'if') I ever do, Bugguide folks will be the first to know:-) My gut says this is not in Pimplinae, but I could definitely be wrong!

OK
- I'll move it to "Black Ichneumons" !
