Much rarer then the individual Bibionidae specimens found at the fossil site, are the groupings of Bibionidae. Some of these are composed of intact individuals while others, like this, are various parts.

The environment which this specimen lived in was upland subtropical/temperate, think SE Asia and SE USA combined, subtropical mixed broad leaf forest with a strong coniferous segment
