Klondike Mountain Formation, 49 million years old, Ferry County, Washington, USA
Size: 2cm long
A specimen of the second most common of the 3 Trichoptera wing types found at the Republic fossil site. Note the lack of color-patterning, absent is the clear rectangle found on 2/3 of the specimens at the site. see this specimen for the more common color-patterning.

The environment which this specimen lived in was upland subtropical/temperate, think SE Asia and SE USA combined, subtropical mixed broad leaf forest with a strong coniferous segment.
