Another Anotia species? - Euklastus harti
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA

Attracted to my porch light. Did not like my flash at all. Immediately raised it's wings to a full 90 degrees and headed for a recess in the shutter. Wing pattern is different from our other images.

Moved from Anotia.

Euklastus harti
This distinctive species is sometimes placed in the Old-World tropical genus Sikaiana.

That's a great note on defensive posturing. I notice that the only other photo we have of this bug also shows the wings raised.
