Definitely
Female velvet ant, looks like Dasymutilla, Will (the other one who actually knows stuff) should be able to give a species

Dasymutilla magnifica
This one has more faded setae compared to the one you posted a few months back.

Thanks Will C-Taylor & George Waldren
Would like to get an image of the male! Suggestions on how to find the males ?

Glad to help =)
Males of this species are large like the females. Male mutillids fly somewhat low to the ground in search for females. They fly in figure eights and zig-zagging patterns searching; once you see one you'll know it.

Also, you could make a small wire mesh cage and put a female in it. She will likely attract at least one male. It is suspected that females probably mate only once, so it might take a few tries finding an unmated female, since mated ones don't seem to attract any males (from my experience at least).
