We had a three-day warming spell and this one appeared on my back fence. Confirmation would be appreciated.

Not sure if M. insertus is the only species in Texas, but yes, the genus ID is right on!

As new species are submitted pages are added to BugGuide for their storage. This is ideally done after an expert confirms an ID.
Until an ID is confirmed it can be left in ID Request or it can be put on the genus page instead of the species page.

Thank-you. It was interesting to look at the other Texas species, but it is definitely a job for the experts! I've been looking through my pictures to fill in blanks in the data pages.
