A dorsal view of this velvet ant. Could this be floridensis based on comment here?

could be, I'd have to have th
could be, I'd have to have the specimen in hand. It could also be Timulla ferrugata. I'd leave it in genus.

Separating the two
Hi Brad, just seeing these images for the first time, so if you don't have a species ID for this female yet:

For females,

T. floridensis has the pygidium faintly granulate.

T. ferrugata has the pygidium longitudinally striate.
