Larva - Chauliodes

Larva - Chauliodes
Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
May 2, 2005
Size: ~24mm
Found inside a damp rotten log, and would jump backwards to get away. Is it a Dobsonfly or another similar larva?

Corydalidae.
Definitely of the family Corydalidae. I don't know beyond that.

Posterior
breathing tubes and the lack of gill tufts at the bases of the lateral filaments suggests one of the fishflies, Chauliodinae.
The prepupal stage (out of the water) can last up to two weeks prior to a short pupation.
