Large Black Braconid Wasp
Presence of a straight vein between so-called "1rst discoidal" and "1rst submarginal" cells of forewings (here clearly visible on the right forewing, less so on the left one because this latter lays in part under the former) " proves this elegant insect is not an Ichneumon, despite its fairly large size (owing much to the very long ovipositor).

Thanks again, Richard - I see what you mean. I guess the abdomen length relative to the head and thorax is also more like a braconid too.
