Marsh Fly (Sciomyzidae) - Dictya
Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, California, USA
February 9, 2008
Size: ~10mm
Marsh fly (Sciomyzidae), but can anyone give me a genus or species? Seen around a garden pond in Sunnyvale, CA. Size seems quite variable.

Moved from Marsh Flies.

Fly identification
Dictya sp. Can't determine species without genitalic examination.

Not sure
You know, this site doesn't have too many examples of Marsh flies (though there are certainly more then there are of sucking-lice.)
There aren't many that have been identified beyond family.
