Identification
C ends at or just past R5. In other subfamilies C reaches M. Larvae of phytophagous species have a pair of lobes projecting from the last segment of the abdomen.
Food
Phytophagous species eat grasses, sedges, and rushes (order Poales); other species are saprophagous or predaceous.
