Puddle Bug Clumps - Hypogastrura

Puddle Bug Clumps - Hypogastrura
Santa Rosa Valley area of Camarillo, Ventura County, California, USA
February 20, 2008
These tiny bugs appear when puddles collect on the walkway. Are they Springtails? Are they adults at this stage? Where do they go when the puddle dries?

Moved

Hypogastrura sp.
Aggregations of adult Hypogastrura on watersurfaces.

Yes.
I would agree they are springtails. They will retreat to some other damp spot once the puddle evaporates.
