Moved
Moved from Polyphylla occidentalis. I can see why you thought so, but occidentalis is strictly a SE coastal plain species. There is virtually no overlap between western and eastern species, most of the almost 30 species occur in the west and are tough to ID from photos.

genus ID
What makes this one a Polyphylla species? The markings and antennae look so similar to my photo that I suspect it's at least the same genus, if not species.

Thanks Phillip
