Crater-making ant - Dorymyrmex

Crater-making ant - Dorymyrmex
Hobe Sound, Florida, USA
February 20, 2008
Size: 3 mm
These ants made craters 9-12 cm across, 3 cm tall.

Dorymyrmex sp. - worker (Dolichoderinae)
My first insight was related genus Forelius, but this one ant is too slender and leggy.
