Appledore Island in the Isles of Shoals, Maine, USA August 22, 2007 Size: 1-2 Inches
Another moth from Appledore Island. This large red one had a pair of round, backwards facing 'horns' (tufts of hair) on it's lower back (thorax), visible in the photo. Sadly' I did not take some photos of it from the sides to show the 'horns'. :(
