Old World Bee ID Request - Coelioxys coturnix - Female
My back garden, Baltimore City County, Maryland, USA
July 31, 2007
Size: small
A couple weeks after I first observed this old world bee in my neighborhood, I documented the female on a cultivated variety of Achillea millefolium.

Note the red legs on the female.

Please note that I have previously requested a guide page for this species in the forum and have done so again.

This is C. coturnix
first collected in the New World by me in Maryland a few years ago and soon after found elsewhere in Maryland by Sam Droege.

Probable species identification made by Max Schwarz who studied my specimen from Maryland.

These are the only images of the live bee in the New World.
