Pale Spider

Pale Spider
Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA
March 1, 2008
Size: 7 mm
This fellow was anchoring a web on a wooden pole near my pond today. He/she fell in once, and also decided my flash was a good anchoring point too.

Hib or Any?
I would like to know how to tell them apart from a picture...
you can id them from the tracheal spiracle,
but then you need to make the spider docile enough to turn over...
in any event, Lovely thread shot...they are not web builders

Reminds us of one of the
Anyphaenidae such as but we're not sure how to tell Anyphaena from Hibana, etc. But an expert may help us all learn how to tell these apart. Nice shot.

I'm adding one more
image that shows the markings better. Jeff?
