This spider was crawling on our dining room tablecloth. It's still cold outside so, spiders will not show up around here outdoors for another couple of months. I'm not sure why this one suddenly appeared inside. It started to crawl off the side of the table and in my rush to keep it from getting away, I think I must have injured it. You can see in the last two photos that the 'sac' collapsed and a whitish substance appeared around its left front legs. I guess the 'sac' broke and this stuff was from inside? I think it's
Steatoda bipunctata and a female but would appreciate confirmation. I'm also going to take this specimen to
Roger Pickavance for hands-on identification. I'll post the results here.
