To be moved back to stink bugs
Hi Tom,

this is an unusual Pentatomid, of the subfamily Podopinae. Nearctica lists 6 genera, of which, I guess, the first four can be excluded from choice, because they are monotypic, and their species described rather late in time - so unlikely to occur in the atlantic part of U.S.: Allopodops, Neapodops, Notopodops, Weda, Amaurochrous, Oncozygus.
All members of this group seem to be rather rare.

Maybe, one of the bug guys is able to figure out more . . .

regards, Boris

Shield-Backed bug?
Hey Tom, the large scutellem leads me to think this may be a shield-backed bug...

moving
