Pleasing Fungus Beetle - Megalodacne fasciata

Pleasing Fungus Beetle - Megalodacne fasciata
Mason Farm Biological Reserve, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
October 5, 2007
Size: 12mm
Part of a Bioblitz at Mason Farm Biological Reserve. Collected under bark by Martin Hauser. Shows clubbed antennae (clubs are flattened, though not obvious from this angle), and, I believe, 5-segmented front tarsi typical of the family, which has tarsal formula 5-5-5, though 4 is often reduced.
This also shows the dilated maxillary palps typical of this family (1).
