Beetle - Helophorus

Beetle - Helophorus
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
March 9, 2008
Size: 3.96mm (5/32")
Small beetle. Pretty cool markings on its head. Please help with ID.

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Hydrophilidae
genus Helophorus . Further ID generally not possible from images. Found a bunch of these stuck in the dew on my car hood last summer - don't know what drew them, but they sure were attracted by something (grey-green metalic paint shine?)

PS: is that background natural? The spots look unusual and regular.
