I have no idea where to start looking...
Found under a foam cushion mat we had in yard under my daughters slide.

Not much help
but my initial impression was one of the beetles with short elytra... I suppose it could also be a true bug? Someone will be able to help I'm sure - it's a nice photo and the wings (?) show a nice pattern!

 
True bugs.
These appear to be "chinch bugs" in the genus Blissus, family Blissidae (formerly part of the Lygaeidae). Some adults can have abbreviated wings like this.
