Moth Dressed in Astologer's Robe - Alypia octomaculata

Moth Dressed in Astologer's Robe - Alypia octomaculata
Baton Rouge - BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
March 13, 2008
Taken at about 11:00 AM.
Overcast.
At the edge of the swamp.
On a honeysuckle vine.
Probably about 1-1.5 inches long.

Beautiful.
I went back for a macro lens but it was no longer there when I returned.
Hope I can find another one to shoot.

Looks like
Eight-spotted Forester - Hodges#9314 (Alypia octomaculata)

Thanks
Looking at the BugGuide files, I can now see how to count 8 spots.
I also find that I took a picture of its caterpillar last year.
