Looks like a stinger is visible.

More accurately, what can be seen on this - excellent- pic are the protruding sheaths of the stinger. The stinger proper is blackish and much thinner (see Tony's pic about D. arenaria). They rarely show up outside of the gaster, namely when the insect is cleaning its stinging device.
