Tachinid Fly ?? - Tachina

Tachinid Fly ?? - Tachina
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
March 24, 2008
Size: ~10mm
Saw this guy in the afternoon in our yard on Euryops. Probably some kind of Tachinid?

Moved
Moved from Tachininae.

Tachinidae, probably Tachina sp.
Tachinidae, probably Tachina sp.

Yes
And a member of the subfamily Tachininae (Echinomyia or a closely related genus). There are several virtually identical species here in Western Europe too - probably the easiest Tachinid Flies to spot at once on the field.
