Mealy Cabbage Aphids - Brevicoryne brassicae

My nice big cabbage plants became infested with these aphids rather late in the season. However, there were eventually thousands of these aphids under the loose outer leaves of the cabbage heads. They seem to tolerate the cold, oftentimes freezing nighttime temperatures, clear into December. Earlier on they were quite mealy looking; but by December, after rains and snowfalls they looked more these.
