Mole cricket identifications

Hello all,

I had a spare five minutes, so I've skimmed through the unidentified mole cricket photos and put names on the following:

Please note that the last one is a great photo of Scapteriscus didactylus (Latreille, 1804) ♀ which is a new species for the guide... can one of the editors please create a guide page for this?

Cheers,

Sam

I moved some of them around, and updated genders. I didn't make the new pages. Looks like we need Gryllotalpa, too? I think the family page will also need to be updated as it says "Gryllotalpa (1 species)", while http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/g361a.htm, lists 3.

Thanks John
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to identify the species of Gryllotalpa due to the soft focus on the photo. Ideally, we would need close-ups of the head (particularly the ocelli) and prothoracic leg in order to determine Gryllotalpa species.

Here's a list of Gryllotalpidae known from the USA, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Distribution data is available for each species from the Mole Cricket Knowledgebase.

Genus Gryllotalpa Latreille, 1804
G. cultriger Uhler, 1864
G. gryllotalpa (Linnaeus, 1758)
G. major Saussure, 1874
G. orientalis Burmeister, 1838

Genus Neocurtilla Kirby, 1906
N. hexadactyla (Perty, 1832)

Genus Scapteriscus Scudder, 1868
S. abbreviatus Scudder, 1869
S. borellii Giglio-Tos, 1869
S. didactylus (Latreille, 1804)
S. imitatus Nickle & Castner, 1984
S. vicinus Scudder, 1869

Maybe the family page is in need of revision?
