What kind of grasshopper? - Melanoplus sanguinipes

What kind of grasshopper? - Melanoplus sanguinipes
Gulfport, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
March 29, 2008

Moved
Moved from Melanoplus.

Nymph:-)
This is a nymph, probably in the genus Melanoplus, family Acrididae

Thanks
I can't tell any of these apart so I really appreciate all the help!

Melanoplus sanguinipes likely
This is more of an educated guess than an identification. Being female, and the fact that I don't know the nymphs of all the Florida species, are both factors that make it somewhat uncertain. However, there aren't very many long-winged species down there (this is a 4th instar of a long-winged species), and the pattern is proper for M. sanguinipes.
