Ravine Trapdoor Spider - Cyclocosmia truncata - female

Ravine Trapdoor Spider - Cyclocosmia truncata - Female
Rome, Floyd County, Georgia, USA
March 27, 2008
Adult female Cyclocosmia truncata, in comparison to my hand. She was very calm and behaved extraordinarily well for the pictures I made of her. In fact, this individual was the most cooperative arachnid that its ever been my pleasure to photograph! However, I do not recommend holding any type arachnid, as they are always capable of surprising actions no matter how docile one might seem.
