We believe this is a female Deer Tick (Ixodes scapularis).
It was inadvertently collected by Jeanell.
Confirmation/correction would be appreciated.

Looks right to me...
I believe your assumption of this as a deer tick is the correct one.
And it's definitely a female (the backs of males are covered by their scutum(that black plate on their backs).).
