Carabid - Paratachys

Carabid - Paratachys
Medford, (~25 miles east of Philadelphia, PA) Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 11, 2007
Size: ~3.2mm
posted to show the 2 HUGE "pits" in the mentum which are characteristic of several genera in Bembidiini, including by my ref. Tachys, Paratachys, Porotachys, Polyderis, and Pericompsus. Unfortunately, it can't be seen in this image, but the mentum also has a medial "tooth".

Thanks Tim for demonstrating those characteristic mentum pits!
They are easy to see (under low magnification) and I hope image submitters start looking there when posting bembidiines.
