Weird fly....at least I think it's a fly. Please help with ID.

This looks like a female Sympycnus (subfamily Sympycninae), a genus with 28 species recorded from North America, north of Mexico (Pollet et al., 2004; Brooks et al., 2005).

I'd venture it is a dolichopodid (longlegged fly).
