Moved to guide. There is also a tiny beetle, I wonder what it is.

Bee fly
This is a bee fly (Bombyliidae) of the genus Lordotus. These have the characteristic wing venation as visible in the other picture (R4+5 forked, connected to R2+3 and strongly curved forward), the elongate proboscis and strongly and uniformly tomentose. According to the Manual of Nearctic Diptera 22 species in the western USA.
