Larger, nearly wingless winter stonefly

Larger, nearly wingless winter stonefly
Houghton County, Michigan, USA
April 6, 2008
Size: 7 mm
This stonefly was found in the same place as the smaller one. Its abdomen is noticeably longer than that of the previous specimen, but the wings are about the same length. Would this be a different species, a difference between the sexes, or just random variation between individuals?
