Alfalfa Leaf Weevil - Hypera postica

Alfalfa Leaf Weevil - Hypera postica
Destrahan, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, USA
April 6, 2008
I *think* this is a Alfalfa Leaf Weevil from what I have seen here on BugGuide. Is Louisiana a bit too far south for this species?

I think your ID is correct
. . . and it is an European, invasive species. Don´t think its too far south, species reaches subtropical zones in the old world also.

Thank you.
Thanks for you help and information.

Have a great day!
