Cuckoo Bee? - Dioxys

Cuckoo Bee? - Dioxys
Point Mugu State Park, Ventura County, California, USA
April 7, 2008
Size: ~ 7mm
Seen around the Lotus scoparius shrubs, where I also observed Anthidium palliventre .
Really not sure what this one is.

Dioxys
tribe Dioxyini

Its host is very likely Anthidium palliventre.

Great find!

Species ID should not be difficult, but I'm in the field now, on Santa Cruz I., CA.

Thanks, John,
& I wish you a great time on Santa Cruz. Have a few Sta. Cruz Isl. Ironwood trees in my garden.
