Bee in Flower

Bee in Flower
Desert Hot Springs, Riverside County, California, USA
April 1, 2008
Size: around 15mm?
One of the larger bees I saw out in the desert. This one looked almost dead....except I could see its abdomen pulsing. I'm guessing Megachilid.

not a megachilid
male
