Carpophilus lugubris - Caplothorax lugubris

Carpophilus lugubris - Caplothorax lugubris
Medford, (~25 miles east of Philadelphia, PA) Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
May 27, 2007
Size: ~4mm
This is Carpophilus, with the abdominal sterna 2 and 3 short, and 1, 4, and 5 longer. And I believe it to be C. lugubris Murray 1864, and not the similar C. sayi Parsons 1943, which is described as more black than piceous, and more oval than oblong as this one is. Corrections welcome :)
