Size: ~6mm
this semi-metalic leaf beetle's color looked significantly more light yellow/brown under the scope (using the same light source). In any case, ID suggestions welcome :)

This one has to go back into the Tymnes spp. pot. It is not T. metasternalis which is abundantly different. Tymnes is in need of revision. There are unresolved taxonomic problems with species in the NE USA. This thing falls in with tricolor and violaceus and possibly an un-named species.

Thymnes metasternalis
This is a eumolpinae of the genus Thymnes; it keys Thymnes metasternalis I think. It seems to have the sides of metasternum very coarsely, closely punctate.
Tymnes metasternalis Crotch can be confused with T. tricolor (Fabricius) however. It differs only by the degree of punctation. The two may be conspecific, T. tricolor possibly being the predominant northern form.
