The flowers it is perched on in the other picture are approximately 5/8 - 3/4 inches wide, if that helps any.

Mimicry
It looks like it's mimicking a ladybird beetle... Which is unrelated, but still...
Is my assumption correct? :?

looks like a species of cleridae
the 4-spotted Checkered Beetle Pelonides quadripunctatus may be a possibility...
