Which Syrphid Fly - Syrphus torvus - Male
Brighton, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada
April 17, 2008
Size: 1/2 inch
Is it possible to find out which Syrphid Fly this is?

Normally
It would be nearly impossible indeed, but if this is a male Syrphus with hairy eyes it can only be Syrphus torvus.
Greetings,

Syrphus ?
Probably Syrphus sp., but it will be hard to go further...

Syrphid
Thanks Pierre-Mark and Gerard.
