Springtails

I have what appear to be Elongate-bodied Springtails on my windowsills and on the kitchen counters. Is there any way to keep them from getting in the house? And now that they are in, is there a way to get them out?

"Nuisance pest."
At most, springtails can be considered a "nuisance pest." They really don't have any impact on human health, structures, or foodstuffs. They 'are' a sign you have a moisture problem, as they are dependent upon high humidity and moisture (most commonly found indoors around drains, in the bathtub or shower, and in the potting soil of houseplants). I'd recommend thoroughly drying out the areas where you are finding them, and/or simply ignoring them. They are NOT a sign of poor housekeeping. Virtually every human abode on the planet has had springtails at one time or another.
