Little Brown Bee Fly

Little Brown Bee Fly
Desert Hot Springs, Riverside County, California, USA
April 3, 2008
Aphoebantus mus?

Moved
Moved from Bee Flies.

ID
Note how R2+3 emerges near the r-m crossvein at a 90 degree angle. Compare with Aphoebantus which have the R2+3 emerging much more basally and at an acute angle.

I've seen this guy around. I believe it is placed in Chrysanthrax. I may have a species determination later.
