Habronattus decorus - Male
Prairie Center, Johnson County, Kansas, USA
April 20, 2008
Pretty sure this is Habronattus decorus. My first foray this season out to the Prairie Center. Not a heck of a lot else unfortunately!

Correct
Nice shots!

Distinguishing features?
Is the pretty copper-colored opisthosoma a distinguishing feature for these?

-K

For the male habronattus, yes
anything from this copper color to red to pink/purple, combined with a black body and legs which are sometimes covered with white hairs.

Opis-what??
Is that anything like an "abdomen?" ;-) Sorry, we have all levels of contributors and viewers here.
