Confirmed by Dr. Henry with help of v.
Thanks, v and Dr. Henry!

Moved from Macrotylus regalis.

I suspect M. vanduzeei rather than regalis.
based on the original description of Knight and the following images.

M. vanduzeei

M. regails.

Macrotylus regalis Uhler
Thomas J. Henry det.

another new genus for the guide -- way to go, Chuck! please look for more and post photos. =v=

Macrotylus ...
Wow! It is an unexpected ID since it is somewhat different from those found on internet, which are chiefly green.

well... this one's their King, as the name implies
*

belongs in Miridae
:-)

Thanks!
Any idea if these are variations on the same species?

I agree
on menardk's statement.

prob different species
The fact that the coloration is so different and that the pronotal margin (the area behind the head that covers part of the thorax) is a different color than the other, you can't see the mesoscutum in the second, I would say different species. Two good finds :)
