Another Jumping Spider - Phidippus audax - male

Another Jumping Spider - Phidippus audax - Male
Springfield, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA
April 23, 2008
This is P. audax I believe. Male or Female? Found on the side of the house where we found the other jumping spider that I just posted. It is browner than the other jumper. Does this mean it's juvenile or do they just come in different shades?

Yes audax
and this one's a subadult male. One molt away from adult.

Thanks again, Jay
Will he be darker in color after his last molt? If so, this will help me tell younger spiders vs mature.

After his next molt,
he will look very much like this:

:-)

Jay, You Have
taught me a lot in these last 2 posts of mine. A big Thank You!!
