Huge grasshopper - Schistocerca americana - Female
Abita Creek Flatwoods Nature Preserve, Abita Springs, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, USA
January 27, 2008
Size: About 4" long
Anyone know what kind of grasshopper this is?

Not an expert
but it looks like an American Bird Grasshopper (Schistocerca americana) to me.

Thanks!
That makes sense, since it was practically the size of a bird! Thanks again! :)
