Chortophaga viridifasciata - female

Chortophaga viridifasciata - Female
Rio Grande Botanic Garden, Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
April 8, 2008
BugGuide probably doesn't need any more of this species, but this green and purple color form is not shown yet, and it is quite striking. It is basically a mix of the relatively rare purple/pink color form and the more common green one (thumbnails below). I've never seen this coloration in males, only females. This girl is also from the westernmost part of the species' distribution (but it looks the same here as through most of its distribution).
